CSIR-IHBT Selection Process 2025

Selection includes two stages

Stage 1: Trade Test (Qualifying)

Shortlisted candidates must appear in the skill-based trade test.

Stage 2: OMR/Computer-Based Written Exam

Only candidates who qualify for the trade test can appear for the written exam.

Exam Pattern – Technical Assistant (200 Questions, 3 Hours)

Paper-I (Mental Ability Test) – 1 Hour

• 50 questions → 100 marks
• No negative marking

Paper-II (General Awareness + English) – 30 Minutes

• GA: 25 questions → 75 marks
• English: 25 questions → 75 marks
• 1 mark negative for each wrong answer

Paper-III (Subject) – 1.5 Hours

• 100 questions → 300 marks
• 1 mark negative

Exam Pattern – Technician (1) (150 Questions, 2.5 Hours)

Same structure, but subject questions reduced to 50 instead of 100.
